Art One - Picasso and van Gogh videos

Watch the following video about Picasso.  Which painting is your favorite and which is your least favorite and why?  Picasso was the founder of the Cubism art movement along with George Braque.  Advances in art had been made by the Impressionists (Monet, Renior, Degas) and Post Impressionists (van Gogh, Seurat, Gauguin) to allow room for this new way of painting.

  1. My favorite painting would have to be van Gogh's because of the way all of his colors and strokes flow together whereas Picasso's work is more block-like.

  2. About Picasso, I like the paintings with a lot of color and smooth curves. I don't really care for the blank canvases with the pointy-featured figures.

  3. My favorite painting is Van Gogh's because i like the detailed work he did. I am not a big fan of the Cubism that Picasso did because I don't think it flows well and has many bold shapes.

  4. I like Van Gogh's painting more because I like how the colors blend and how it looks like there is a story behind the painting.

  5. My favorite Picasso painting was the Barefoot Girl because of the creative details, however my least favorite painting of Picasso was the painting of three people that made it look like a family portrait because it was odd and creepy to me. I always loved Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh because of its different shades of blue. It gives the painting a very tranquil feeling.

  6. I can't really choose a favorite, but I really like Picasso's different perspective of the forms of the body and Van Gogh's technique in which causes the colours in his paintings to flow into one another. as a least favorite, I'd have to say Picasso's early work.

  7. My favorite is Van Gogh because I think his paintings are generally prettier. I do not really like how Picasso's paintings look. They are too block-like and weird.
